A recent clearfell on Windsor estate allowed for the planting of an E.nitens crop with minimal ground preparation works, to which the trees have responded accordingly.
As shown E.nitens 14 months old planted in recently clearfelled pine 1.5ha coupe, no ground preparation, more than able to compete ahead of weeds (above & right).
In contrast E.glaucescens/E.dalrympleana would have a similar response as long as grass competition is controlled, though within a forested environment grass generally hasn’t the time or light opportunity to develop significantly (left).
