In 2016 Elderslie Estate, near Glasgow, replanted a four hectare area, previously conifer, with Eucalyptus glaucescens and the rates of growth have been substantial with canopy closure occurring in three years. The trees are of consistent good form with apical dominance traits prevalent throughout. In 2021 a silvicultural productive thinning operation is planned.
A second pair of fields have been planted with various Eucalypt species with Eucalyptus glaucescens being the dominant planted tree and in 2019 a six hectare arable field adjacent to the Policies has been planted with very specific pre-planting work to optimise establishment including mounding, double tine ripping and a targeted spray trialling the use of laser over the Eucalypts.
